Saved Part 3 “Can I Lose My Salvation”

“Saved” – Part 3

Can I Lose My Salvation?

Part 1:  We need a _______________ because our ________ _____________ us from God.

Part 2:  God, the _______________, prescribes the remedy to the _____________ and His name is _____________.

God has revealed to us _____________  ____________ that is consistent with _______________  _______________.

Today:  Once you are _____________, can you become _____________?         __________

Two words speak to the permanent nature of salvation:

_________________         and       ________________

Only those who have ________________ Jesus Christ as Savior can rightly call God, “Father”.

John 1:12-13   12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God— 13 children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.

A full understanding of salvation sees salvation as a  spiritual ___________________  made effective by _________, not us.

Salvation is not mine to ___________; but rather __________ to keep.

1 Peter 1:3-5

Praise to God for a Living Hope

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time.

The passages that are used to support the ability to lose your salvation almost always focus on our ______________.

An earthly father cannot “__________________” a child; and neither can a heavenly Father.

Our salvation is _________________.

1 Peter 1:4,

and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you

Ephesians 1:13-14  13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.

The idea of “forever” doesn’t kick in when we ___________.

John 17:3  Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.

Another way:  “My forever life begins __________.”

Just as _________________ salvation is not based on your works, neither is _________________ salvation based on your works.

Those who teach that you can lose your salvation at best do not comprehend the __________________ of the gospel and at worst seek to use ____________ to manipulate behavior.

What about the person who has “____________” the faith?

1 John 2:19  19 They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us.

The clear teaching is that those have “___________” the faith; never _____________ the faith.

If you have received Jesus Christ as your Savior, you have a heavenly ______________ who has granted you eternal life that is truly ________________.
