Real Life Part 4 “Believior” and “Behavior”

“Believior” and Behavior

“Believior” is short for “_________  ________________”.

Perhaps James saw how important the __________________ was between Jesus’ _____________ and His _____________.

Trying to behave right without believing right leads to _________________.  Believing right brings behaving right to _________________.

James 1:21-25

21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.

22 Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. 23 Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror 24 and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. 25 But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.

Hearing and not doing means that the hearing didn’t take ______________.

Favoritism Forbidden

My brothers and sisters, believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ must not show favoritism. Suppose a man comes into your meeting wearing a gold ring and fine clothes, and a poor man in filthy old clothes also comes in. If you show special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say, “Here’s a good seat for you,” but say to the poor man, “You stand there” or “Sit on the floor by my feet,” have you not discriminated among yourselves and become judges with evil thoughts?

James says that those who treat others this way have __________ thoughts… or _______________ affects _________________.

Followers of Jesus don’t see people as _______________ to get something from but rather as __________________ to give something to.

Salvation is only by ____________, but real grace that is received will produce _______________.

James 2:19 19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that—and shudder.
