Real Church – Part 8

How to Rid the Church of Hypocrites

Objection:  The church is full of ___________________.

The word “hypocrite” comes from the world of Greek _______________.

Should there be a distinction between the word __________________ and the word _______________?

Simply ______________ something is wrong and ___________ it anyway is not hypocrisy.

God doesn’t desire that we ______________ that we are someone we are not.  Rather, God wants His people to ________________ something they were not, and then live in the power of that change.

The early church was living in a powerfully _____________ way.  Acts 4:32-35

The Believers Share Their Possessions

32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all 34 that there were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need.

Ananias and Sapphira lost their _____________ because they __________ to God.

Is there an environment where there is very little _______________ in which hypocrisy can breathe?

Three ways to rid the church of hypocrisy:

  1. Create close _________________________.

Hypocrisy thrives in _____________, not in _______________.

Acts 4:32  All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had.

If I have a close relationship with you, I don’t have             the _____________ or the _____________ to pretend.

  1. Be content with __________ you are and ___________ you have to offer.

All that you are and have is by the _____________ of God.

The oxygen for hypocrisy is found in ________________             with who we are and what we have to offer.

Allow God to ______________ you for tomorrow without         any ________________ about today.

  1. Fear God ____________ than you fear man.

Acts 5:3-4  Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”

More oxygen for hypocrisy is found in the fear of _________________ by others.

Often the consequences from man are _____________               but the consequences from God are _______________.
