LIFE Part 8 “The Worry Free LIFE”

Sermon Notes:

The Worry Free LIFE

Are you _________________ in a worry free life?

After today, every bit of worry that ________________ your life will be ________________ in by you.

Some stress is a ________________ part of everyday life.

In the New Testament, the same word is translated both ________________ and _______________.

Worry and unhealthy stress are not ______________________.

Matthew 6:25-34

Do Not Worry

25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Big Idea:  I can live without worry when I ____________ and ____________ God.

1.  Do you ________________ God?  (Matthew 6:24) 24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.

Choosing to serve God means a      _____________________with God.

The foundation to eliminating worry is knowing that      you _____________ and ______________ to God.

Most of us have used this ________________ and        __________________ truth many times.

The fact that I belong to God removes worry about my _______________.

“My life has been filled with calamities, some of which actually happened.” Mark Twain

God has your _____________ regarding the events that are still in ________________ of you.

If you don’t serve God you should be very _________________.

2.  Do you ______________ God?  (vs 33) But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Two key words are….

a.  _____________________.

When I am seeking God I feel ______________ to Him.

Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley,[a] I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, hey comfort me.

             b.  ______________________.

When we seek what God desires for us then our             ______________________ line up with His             ______________________.

Removing worry ________________ doesn’t insulate us from starting it up again __________________.

How does what I worry about fit with serving and seeking God?
