Adult Ministry
Golden Oldies
The vision of the Golden Oldies is to reach out to others in our church and community, extending care and compassion to the almost forgotten through Christian activities and fellowship in harmony with God.
The Golden Oldies at Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren include individuals age 50 and up. We welcome you to come share in the fellowship and service with a community of believers just in their prime. And if your spouse is a little less golden than you are, please bring him or her along for the ride. Activities include fellowship, games, dining out, local trips and one-day bus trips.
- Regular Meetings - the first Monday of each month with dinner at 5:30 PM (at a local restaurant) followed by a business meeting at 7:00 PM at the church.
- Mission and Outreach - Quarterly worship services at Rolling Hills Manor, Brethren Disaster Relief Fund, an adopted child (Aroon Propai) from Thailand through World Vision, used stamps for the Brethren Home, Operation Shoebox, the Salvation Army Special Needs Fund, and clothing donations to World Vision for Armenian children. The Golden Oldies also make comforters and quilts for those in need.
Men's Ministry
The Men’s Ministry is dedicated to helping men to be passionate followers of Jesus Christ through Discipleship, Evangelism, Fellowship, Ministry and Worship.
The Men's Ministry provides fellowship and outreach opportunities for the men of the church. Sponsored events include the annual Super Bowl Party, cooking for the Mother Daughter Banquet, Quoit Pitching, a Father/Son Banquet and the annual Kettle Cook Ministry. (The Kettle Cook Ministry donates funds from the annual soup sales to pay medical bills for needy families in the community.)
Women's Ministry
Our vision is to minister and reach out to all women in our congregation, providing opportunities to fellowship, develop personal relationships and to grow spiritually.
The Women's Ministry of the Buffalo Valley Church of the Brethren provides fellowship and outreach opportunities as they encourage and strengthen relationships between the women of our church, while reaching out to the community and the world through service projects. There are many activities throughout the year. Women are encouraged to be be involved in the things that matter most to them. Activities and projects include: a Women's Retreat, Christmas Banquet, Secret Pals, Mother-Daughter Banquet, Game Nights, Patio Planters, Garden Party, Public Dinners/Catering, "4 For A Picnic," Food Stands at sales and Craft projects.
